She tries to use her head while making decisions, but often her heart leads, and there are reasons for this, but readers don't know until late in the story why Candice is on such an emotional roller coaster. Lochlainn Alexander is a patient and sweet man, once you get past the obligatory initial conflict scene. He is gracious about his mistakes (a refreshing trait), and honest about his feelings -- a very likable hero. Despite some clichés and repetitive scenes, this book was an enjoyable read.
