Domhan Books: Dare to Be Different

About Domhan Books

Domhan Books was founded in December 1998. Our first paperback title was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for non-fiction in 1999. Our second paperback title appeared for five weeks in a row on the bn.com bestsellers top 5 bestsellers list in June and July 2000 in the e book section, along with Stephen King and Robert Ludlum. Call Home the Heart was a Top Pick in September 2000, and nominated for a Reviewers' Choice award from Romantic Times for the year 2000. Too Much for Words was named a Top Pick in August 2001. These are just the most notable of the many successes we have had since our inception.

We publish the multi-award-winning authors Sorcha MacMurrough, Gabriel Rosenstock, Albert Russo, and Lidmila Sovakova, and works in hardcover, paperback, and electronic formats in all genres from writers all over the world. We are growing larger every day as we publish new and exciting writers, and more titles from our wonderful family of authors.

Our mission is a simple one: to produce high-quality books for a reasonable price using the latest publishing technologies. Through our foresight, careful investment, hard work, and dedication, new writers who would never otherwise have been accepted by traditional publishers unwilling to take risks on unknown authors, or which possess strict "guidelines", have at last found a voice in the highly-competitive world of book publishing. Previously published authors' out of print books have been given a whole new lease of life by being made available in paper and electronically. We have always had and continue to have an open submission policy; authors and agents are both equally free to submit manuscripts to us for consideration.

Through our strategic partnerships, our books have slowly gained recognition and admiration in the highl- competitive world of paper publishing. Often imitated but never equaled, our experienced staff at Domhan Books have served as educators and advisors to over a dozen fiction and non-fiction publishing houses.

We cater for people who are visually challenged. Our e books are unique in being able to be sized up to 144 points and adaptable to audio and braille reader technology.

Above all, we are committed to our own business vision. There is no such thing as competition for Domhan Books--we have our own unique goals. We are a hard-working collective who strive to making authors' dreams a reality.

But let's face facts--the market is very crowded, with over 75,000 new books coming out in the US alone every year, 135,000 worldwide. This being the case, sadly we cannot publish all of the thrilling books that come across our desks, but we hope that other exciting opportunities for your writing will present themselves.

For readers, we hope you will continue to support our rising stars as they work ever harder to succeed in the highly competitive world of publishing.

Here one piece of advice which you should take to heart as you search the net for a home for your ms:

NEVER, EVER PAY A "PUBLISHER" OR "AGENT" A PENNY TO READ YOUR WORK!

Never agree to pay to have it printed, and then also have to give up a percentage of your hard-earned royalties! This is vanity or subsidy publishing, not professional publishing. It is not ethical.

Our Books:

Domhan's impressive array of hardcover and paperback books are professionally edited and produced in-house, and printed using the latest digital print technologies, and distributed worldwide.
